Even if the screen is smaller, it's still the same task and it STILL makes you slower. Can you imagine one out of every two people walking down the sidewalk reading a book? It's the same thing. There is a great deal of selfishness involved in this usage of screens. We need to get to a certain part of the platform in order to get out at the right exit. This includes ambling along like turtles on busy subway platforms. Now there is a whole generation-plus of people who do not understand that walking with your reading material (or watching a movie, for heaven's sake) is **annoying** to those of us who need to get to work on time, or to get our express buses on time, or do not want to be late for meetings. We could get to where we were going in fewer minutes. Prior to phones with screens, people walking in the City moved faster. I do wish people who like to read their cell phones while moseying along during rush hour would put them away and/or just stop it, and keep the pace. Risa that statement should be a topic of its own.
